General Secretary Bishop Paul Donison and Bishop David McClay underline the significance of the recent Gafcon statement
See Bishop Paul’s article at the Gospel Coalition where he writes of “…. a historic reordering of the Anglican Communion that has profound significance for global evangelicalism.” and poses the question of how this affects Anglicans who live in England or in provinces where their dioceses have not yet joined Gafcon? - “the answer is Gafcon local branches which function as networks where clergy and laypeople can fully participate in the life of the Communion”.
Also Bishop David emphasises that as chair of Gafcon Europe, he will endeavour to uphold the Gafcon position of supporting those who contend for the gospel within the Church of England, while also acknowledging that some have felt the need to leave. Gafcon Europe will seek to be a support and encouragement to them all.
