Support this historic gathering

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I greet you in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

From 3 to 6 March 2026, orthodox Anglican bishops will gather in Abuja, Nigeria, for the first official meeting of the Global Anglican Communion since our historical Martyrs Day statement on 16 October.

Invitations to this G26 Gafcon Bishops Conference have now been sent to 500 delegates across our global Anglican family.

Already more than 50 bishops have asked for financial assistance so they may attend.

As Primates, we have issued this solemn summons because this is a vital moment of counsel, unity, and shared conviction for our Global Anglican Communion.

Now that the future has arrived, we must come together to discern the path ahead.

The Church of Nigeria has shown remarkable generosity by providing all conference day costs, so there is no registration fee for any delegate.

Yet many bishops, especially from the Global South, cannot afford the travel, visas, accommodation, and other necessary expenses.

Without your support, these faithful leaders cannot be with us to stand together in this historic moment.

To ensure that every voice may be heard, we have launched the G26 Bursary Fund.

Your gift will open the way for bishops who serve sacrificially in challenging contexts to take their vital place in Abuja next March.

If you or your church are able to help, please visit www.gafcon.org/G26Bursary or contact secretariat@gafcon.org.

Please pray for this gathering and consider giving generously.

When we gather in person, our witness is stronger, our unity is deeper, and our mission becomes clearer.

Let us make it possible for every bishop whom we have summoned to join us for this moment the Lord has entrusted to us.

Yours in Christ,

The Most Revd Dr Laurent Mbanda
Chairman, Gafcon Primates Council

PS: Many faithful bishops cannot afford to attend. Will you help bring them to Abuja?
